Your Best and Brightest Career for the Post Covid-19 World

As the Corona virus pandemic continues to ravage the world, much is uncertain. Yet, two things are abundantly clear: (1) More people continue to become infected and many get sick and die. (2) Our economy is suffering and our job future is uncertain.

Protecting people from the virus without destroying the fabric of society is a balancing act that will go back and forth for a long time. Yet, with all the ups and downs, this may be the best time to think about your career future.

We hear daily about health-care workers on the frontline fighting the virus pandemic and see pictures of doctors and nurses doing their best to save lives. But there’s another crisis that doesn’t get as much attention. It’s the need for mental health services and it is impacting many more people than the Corona virus itself.

Psychologists, social workers, marriage and family counselors, licensed professional counselors, therapists, couples counselors, health coaches, clergy, human resource specialists, and other health care practitioners are on the front line in addressing this pressing need.

I’m a member of this band of brothers and sisters who are on the front line of this mental health crisis and I need your help. Let me tell you a little bit about my story and why I’m looking for 25 exceptional men and women who want to serve humanity and make a great living doing it (and I’ve got a great ebook gift for you at the end, so stick with me).

Like many who work in the field, I had a desire to be a “helper” from an early age. I was five years old when my father was unable to make a living to support his family and, in despair, took an overdose of drugs. I grew up wondering what happened to my father and whether it would happen to me.

I went through college and into medical school thinking I would become a psychiatrist, but medicine, then, and now, was too restrictive for the kinds of issues I thought were important that addressed psychological, interpersonal, social, spiritual, and economic concerns, to name a few. I went into social work and made a decent living working in an agency. But agency social work had lots of restrictions and bureaucratic demands that limited my joy and creativity.

So, with some trepidation about my future economic security, I went into private practice and began making a much better living, doing work I loved, working the hours I wanted, and having more free time to do other things. When my first son was born in 1969, I made a commitment to him to be a different kind of father than my father was able to be for me and do everything I could to create a world where families got the support they needed to stay joyfully together.

This decision was the beginning of my work in the field and the birth of my business, MenAlive.

For fifty years now, I have been a leader in this emerging field of gender-specific health care and men’s health. I’ve travelled the world speaking at conferences and putting on trainings. I’ve written 16 books including international best-sellers, Looking for Love in All the Wrong Places, Surviving Male Menopause, The Irritable Male Syndrome, My Distant Dad: Healing the Family Father Wound, and The Enlightened Marriage.

You may be wondering by now, “So, what’s the problem?” Just this. With all that is happening in the world, I’m getting many more requests for services than I can meet. I have to tell people I know I could help, that I’m booked solid. When they ask if there’s someone I’ve trained that I can recommend, I have to tell them, “No. I’m sorry.” Until now. I could add staff, but I’d rather help train people who would like to expand their own work, to start a new career, or build on the one they have, and get support and mentoring from me.

Beginning in September, I will be offering a training and certification program to 25 health-care practitioners. If you’re a psychologist, social worker, marriage and family counselor, licensed professional counselor, therapist, couples counselor, coach, clergy, human resource specialist, or other health care practitioner, I’d like to talk to you.

As one of the people who has been doing this work for a long time now, there are some things I know about you already. You’re very good at what you do, but you know you want to have a larger impact. You love your work, but you know you could be earning more, helping more, stressing less, and having more joy in your work and in your life.

If this resonates with you, if you are able to look to the future, even in these challenging times, I’d like to ask you to spend a little time checking out this unique program. This is the only time I will ever offer it. These 25 will be the only ones I will ever train and certify.

So, here’s what I invite you to do. Click this link. I’ll meet you there and you’ll see two short videos where I will tell you all about the program. After the second video, should you be interested, you can download the full details and here’s where the free gift comes in. You’ll get my popular ebook, Your Best and Brightest Career for the Post Covid-19 World, where I’ll detail what I see about our collective future and the careers that will be most helpful, most joyful, and most lucrative in the next two to five years.
